Biography
Gerardo Duarte is a Senior Manager at CVS Health. He has 7 years of actuarial experience within the healthcare industry. At his role in CVS Health, he supports the Enterprise Economics team focusing on cross-business and integrated value projects involving the various CVS Health assets.
Originally from Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, he moved to the U.S to start his undergrad studies at a local community college (Laredo College) in Laredo, TX. He later transferred to the University of Texas at Austin and in 2018, graduated with honors with a B.S. in Mathematics (concentration in Actuarial Science). He was an active member and held leadership positions at MAES (Latinos in Science and Engineering). Later in 2023, Gerardo became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA).
Gerardo joined OLA back in 2020 supporting interviews and resume reviews. He is passionate about promoting the actuarial profession, and supporting Latine students and young professionals achieve their goal of becoming an actuary.
Gerardo enjoys all kind of outdoor activities, camping, hiking, kayaking, etc and spending time with his family. He hopes to become a university professor in the future. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
