Biography
Alan Ramirez is an AVP Global Risk Management responsible for the oversight of insurance and product Risk. In this role, he is responsible for updating the pricing standards that outline the guiding principles to be used for pricing, and the key financial measures for management review of pricing standards. He is also responsible to lead and manage key risk processes, and to drive harmonization between pricing guidance and the EV reporting function within Actuarial.
Prior to his current role, Alan served as Director with actuarial responsibility for LatAm. In this role, he was responsible to oversee, analyze and report results based on projection models, including VNB, EV and GAAP valuation. He was also responsible for reviewing best estimate assumptions. In addition to these responsibilities, he was the technical lead for the IFRS 17 implementation in LatAm countries.
During his 13 years at MetLife, he has been in different actuarial positions in Mexico and the US. Alan received his bachelor’s degree from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico and his master’s degree in actuarial science from the University of Kent in the UK.
He climbed the Kilimanjaro.
