Sarah Peña, FSA

Sarah Peña is an Actuarial Sr. Consultant on the Annuity Valuation Team at Nationwide Financial. Prior to working on the Annuity Valuation Team, Sarah completed Nationwide’s rotation program where she worked on Annuity Pricing, Annuity Modeling, and Quantitative Risk Management. In her current role, she works heavily on the liability side of the balance sheet and supports accurate, optimized, and timely calculations of actuarial balances for fixed indexed and traditional fixed annuities.

Originally from Las Vegas, NV, Sarah moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA where she majored in Financial Actuarial Mathematics. After graduating, she moved to Columbus, OH to work in Nationwide’s headquarters for five years. In 2024, she transitioned to remote work and now resides in New York City.

Sarah joined OLA as a student in 2017 and landed her first actuarial internship with Nationwide at the 2017 ALPFA Convention with OLA’s support. In 2024, Sarah joined the OLA leadership team as the Treasury Program Manager and began serving on OLA’s Board of Directors as Director of Corporate Engagement in 2025.

In 2024, Sarah became a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA). Sarah enjoys running, playing sand volleyball, and exploring new food spots in the city during her spare time.
